I am installing a new laser tube and want to make sure it is safe and doesnt arc etc. I have seen a few methods for insulating the red cable solder connection Including using a section of silicon tube as an insulator around the solder connection. I have various 2 part silicon rubbers used for mould making etc. Can I use this to make an insulated sleeve around the solder joint? I understand silicon is a good uv insulator? I have reAd on the forum that people use silicon sealant. I would use hv tape but it is hard to get hold of.
