Default RECI 100W tube with HY-T150 (150W Power Supply) : is it possible ?

    Hi
My PSU has exploded and no more juice.

My supplier offers me a HY-T150 which is a 150W Power Supply and insistently claims that it will work and there is no risk to the tube; Which I doubt very strongly for the following reason.
    RECI Says this:
The dedicated power DY13 should be equipped.......
The working current: test current is 29mA. Maximum working current is 30mA. The
running current must be kept below 28mA. The life span can reach 10,000 hours if the
current is kept below 26mA. The ammeter indicating current must be connected to the
negative electrode of the laser tube.

While the PSU offered by the supplier provides 38 mA Max Output Current and accepts 1000W Max input power. It is not indicated for RECI 100W if I trust the documentation given on Ebay. Please see specifications here : 150W CO2 Laser Power Supply for Engraving Cutting Machine HY-T150 110V 220V | eBay.

    What do you think ?
If I can accept the supplier's proposal what should I do to protect my 100W RECI laser tube?

    Thanks

All of that is 100% nonsense.
No current is important but HV.
You need to know two values: starting voltage (triggering) and working voltage.

    Thanks for quick reply cinematic2
I understand very well what you are telling me. But being not specialist in electricity,I can not understand everything in the manufacturers documentation.
As for the voltages here is what I found.
RECI says this: The positive pole is in high voltage (the ignition voltage is 24kv).... I can not find this information for the HY-T150 PSU
??????????-??????????-????????????,????,?????? says : High Voltage Power Suppl : Input AC 220V or AC 110V Voltage ,Max Output DC 50KV.....On my old PSU it was maximum DC 40KV.
As for the input voltage everything is at 220V at home.

Can you please help me make a decision. I have to plug the PSU this morning my clients are getting impatient.
    Thank you so much

    Hi ,

DY series powers is the old models for reci laser tube , now RECI has P series power .

    For 100W Tube , you can choose DY13 105$/pc ,shipping charge 85$ . P14 , 245$/pc , 125$ shipping charge .both are ok .

no need to consider more big power . HY-150 can be used , however , cost higher .

Different power need different HV to start . for example , 80W PSU can be worked with 100W , but it can not give enough HV for it , so it can not get the 100W full output .

the label of RECI ,that just a test .in the working conditions , we always do not advice to use it full output if we want it use more longer time .

Hope what i said and help you . also i can supply co2 laser machine parts you need.

Yes WeihongLaser, what you said helped me, specially 4th line. Thanks
So I plugged the new PSU HY-T150 on my RECI 150W tube and it works very well. I just had to make a small shift of wires on the big green connector.
Then I started by reducing the% Power to 75, But it was not necessary. Then I gradually increased it without any problem.

Thanks to all for your answers.
