Hi, go browse EBAY.....most of the stepper motor suppliers also have a chart showing the dimensions of their stepper products.
Ian.
I am either going blind or have totally overlooked it because I cannot find in the Building the KRMx01 book what type, size, etc. the stepper motors are.
Any help? Any one?
Thanks

Seriously? You present the same problem I find in the book. I can browse "Ebay" all day long, but that doesn't help when I don't know what to get. I could get a 76oz motor, 40oz motor, dual shaft, Nema 17, Nema 23, etc. etc.
I need to know what was used to build the KRMx01 so I keep things the same and RIGHT. Why would you even tell me to go to ebay and not tell me the stepper motor I need for the KRMx01 CNC?
Somebody with the knowledge of what I need please help......

Sorry I poked my nose in........your problem is not my problem.

This is the electronics kit used for that machine.

Thank you very much! Now, one other question... I bought the 1/2-10 Five start Acme screws and clamps. These are 1/2" diameter. The stepper motors in the kit will have 3/8" shafts. I believe either I'll have to sleeve the stepper motor shafts? Or have someone with a metal lathe cut the end diameter down on the screws?
Can you confirm what is the best route?
Thanks
The instructions call for the 380 oz 1/4" shaft motors. You also need the 1/2" to 1/4" couplers to attach the motors to the lead screws.
Dave
Do you by chance have a part number for the couplers and a place to acquire them?
Thanks!
Nevermind on the couplers, I found them where I got the motor kit. Thanks!
You can get them from cncrouterparts.com. Here is the link:
Oldham Zero Backlash Couplers | CNCRouterParts
If you are using the anti-backlash nuts from cncrouterparts, you will need to modify your build slightly because they are not a direct replacement for the original nut. You can see what I done to correct it plus some drawings and other info by visiting this link.
Additionally, here is a photo showing the mod.
Sorry Michael. I didn't realize you already posted this information.

No problem, the more its posted the easier it can be found.
