Hi, Does anybody have a sheet/list that shows what fits what WRT bridgeport vs supermax mills? I need the large timing pulley, YCI (supermax) doesn't seem interested in supporting older units, bridgeport sells 2 different timing pulleys for the 1-1/2 and 2 hp vari-speed models, so I don't know if either of these would fit. Help please. It's spider cracked in the shaft area from fatigue cracking (20 years of under torque), my aluminum TIG welding skills are good, but it'll need clean-up on a lathe afterwards and I just want to get this rebuild done. | In my limited experience, YCI machines are based on Bridgeport designs very closely but dimensionally they are a bit different, sometimes. If the item in question mounts to a bearing, you'll have no trouble mating up a Bridgeport part on a YCI machine, as the bearings are standardized. It's the side that doesn't mate up to a bearing that can be an issue. There's really no way of knowing without just trying it. I just put a Bridgeport QC 30 spindle into my YCI step pulley machine, and I had to change out the power feed drive gear, the splined drive hub in the bull gear, and regrind the bull gear mating surface of the splined drive hub because it was oversize for the YCI bull gear. There are several differences, but then again, a lot of Bridgeport parts just drop right in. CJ |

| For anyone interested, the ycm-16 VS timing pulley (similar to bridgeport) will NOT fit ANY bridgeport models. I had the opportunity to see some series I and II BP pulleys, count the teeth, take some measurements. These pulleys sometimes crack in the shaft area and are made of potmetal. You could weld with aluminum rod, but will need to redo the shaft hole and keyway, yada, yada. Good news is; I contacted YCI again, and this time they were very responsive. Timing pulley is about $105. |
