    Anilam M1100

I purchased a Chevalier knee mill with a Anilam M1100 Control. I saw this run before I picked it up, but now the servos do no kick in. Does anyone have manuals, diagnostics, etc?
Thanks for any help you can give.

    cnc operator

I have a 1988 analaim Knee mill and a few things I have learned about it over the years that may be helpful for you. On the outside back of the control cabet there are two switches. One of them is a labeled toggle switch to allow me to use the machine as a traditional manual mill(labeled Manual) or cnc mill(labled Auto). The servos will not energize with the toggle in the Manual position. The other switch on the rear of the cabnet is simply the power supply on/off. My power up procedure is to first turn on the power(on/off switch on back of control panel), wait about a minute or two until the self test is finished and software loaded, then finally, before I push the green ready button on the front of my control cabnet, I tap/push in the big red emergency switch power switch, then press the green ready switch. Now the servos are energized and machine is ready to go. If this still doesn't help maybe one of your axis is sitting on a limit switch. You can visually check the x and y axis and maybe move the table manually if you have hand cranks. If the Z axis is on a limit switch I just move manually the z to the middle by sticking a handle into the manual qill feed and moving it to the middle of it's travel. One other thing would be to open the control cabnet and reset the circuit board ( maybe they got loose during shipping) and check visually for any blown fuses( not likely if machine was running ). Lastly I have locked my machine up when I was transmitting data from the PC. In this case I had to do a machine parameter reset. I can't advise you on your model about the parameter reset but Anilam can. Hope this helps you!

    Smile Anilam 1100

Thanks for the replies. I am making chips now and have a lot to learn about the control. However, I did get hold of the Anilam service dept. and they were very responsive. Mark and Jerry found the manuals for the control and now I have about 400-500 pages of manuals to digest!!. At this point I would like to find a postprocesser for Mastercam 8. Jerry says the 3300, 3000 or the 1100 will work. Again many thanks for the help.
