Any imput about the Centriod M400 mill controller

    Hello,

I been reading this site for a while and have finally decided to post.

I am gathering info about some different cnc knee mills and was interested in a few different brands that use the Centriod M400 cnc controller. from some others i talked with that use it they seem to like it very much. and was wondering what you guys think of it.

Sometime later this year Im looking to purchase a entry level 3 axis knee mill. Mainly for side work and hobby use.

The machines that have caught my eye are made by Elrod, GMC and Birmingham even Grizzley has a couple different models. all of those fall into what id like to spend and use the centroid.

I also like all the accesories Centriod has that can be added later for more complex work.

    Any ideas would be great.

    Jerid

Elrod is a very good resource for this set-up. After much research, I decided to by an excellent but used 3 axis machine center. It seemed to me that the cost of what I was wanting was going to cost about $20,000.00. Add that to to a knee mill and that knee mill gets very pricey and the knee mill with a 3 hp motor is somewhat limited. I got a very good machining center for about $15,000.00 and that included a seat of Surfcam and a fair amount of tooling. I will say I liked the Centroid set very much and Elrod was extremely helpful.
