Exclamation Want to convert BusyBee CT129N

Hi, I'm a newb that recently purchased a CT129N from BusyBee (Ottawa) with the intent of converting it.

    http://www.busybeetools.com/products...ADOUT-MT3.html

It's still on sale. I've seen some posts here about milling down a clamping kit to fit, but little else.

I found this site that describes a rework that upgrades to ball screws. I wasn't going to do that, maybe I can do it in phase two. The lead screws don't seem to have tension adjusters on them.

    Here's that project: http://www.nl4wd.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6

It uses a large stepper for the Z axis, understandable, my thought was to use a counterweight, possibly a sprocket, or a pair, and bicycle chain, to zero out the weight of the head.

I'll be using Linux, I'm a Linux developer, familiar with CAD systems, so the software is a draw. First I need to convert this thing.

If anyone else is considering this, or has already done so, I'd be very interested in discussing it.
