I am considering buying a Bridgeport with a 2 axis Anilam 1100 CNC control. The Z axis is manual but has a DRO which reads out on the CNC display. I would like to retrofit to Mach 3 and replace the old electronics. Replacing the X and Y axis systems seems straightforward, but the Z is giving me some problems. First, how do you get the part program to pause when a Z command appears (like the Anilam does) without manually rewriting all Z commands? Is it possible to connect the Z axis scale to the Mach control and have it read out on the Mach screen? |
