    X-axis leadscrew squeaking and tight

Can anyone throw some light on why my KG3925 x-axis leadscrew is acting up? If I turn the leadscrew by hand (with the motors off and the timing belt removed) the leadscrew turns with a lumpy resistance. It started squeaking under power a few days ago.

My suspicion is that the thrust bearing at the motor end is failing. I don't at this point think it's the follower assembly.

    Hi Alex,

Have you had any responses from K2 on this problem?

Replace both the screw and support bearings or you will just be chacing your tail and screwing with your production time.
