    X-axis fault light coming on

I have a KT-2514S-09 that has run well for 6 months. However today the motor controller fault light comes on during a program run. Machine "homes" correctly, no problems, rapids to "work" home and even completes one machining feature, then X-axis faults.

Any hints to cause and solution??

Many thanks in advance for tips/suggestions.

    B.W.

    P.S.

    1) After talking to K2CNC Support, followed their recommendations to unplug and replug-in the USB cable. Program ran to completion with no faults (cutting air).
    2) Tried program again with work piece in place and fault light came on again.
    3) Re-greased all support and threaded rods, double checked to make sure all plugs were firmly seated in connectors.
    4) Tried program again with work piece in place and fault light came on again.
    5) Put Feed-rate at 50% and was able to run 4 parts complete (no fault light).
    6) It is possible that problems were caused by running an optimal Tool/Feed-rate combination that just went past the tools cutting edge lifetime.

There might be a cable fault - try changing the cable for axis that is erroneous.

Certainly a possibility.... but since reducing Feed rate to 50% there have been no further problems. Its time for a new (sharper) router bit.
