Long time since I last posted. Hello All! Question....... I bought this..... Since the Hitachi will only go down to 8000 rpm.....is it safe to use this tool for facing the spoil board?? I'm really nervous about even turning the thing on with that cutter as it weighs half a pound. Any recomendations would be greatly appreciated.Edit: I understand about having to do with speeds and feeds and chip load so on and so forth. I'm just wondering what the hitachi will handle? Do I need to make sure the family is out of the house? Or stand behind my imaginary forklift? That's what my buddy says that he does. But he really has a forklift. I'd have to hide behind my freezer and turn the thing on with a long stick. I guess I wasn't nervous until I realized how heavy the tool was. Last edited by Rooney; 11-17-2009 at 03:40 PM. |

| You should be able to run it at 12,000 -15,000 rpm, but I'd run it at 8,000-10,000. Depends on the feedrate you plan on using. Just make sure it's tight. If you're concerned, place a piece of MDF between you and the router when you turn it on.
