Hi fellas, I'm about to build one of these '06 machines and I was wondering about certain specifics. What would be a good setup for it without spending a ton (now, I don't want cheap stuff, I want something that will do justice to the wonderful machine... so I want stuff that works well). So... What kind of ... should I get: Controller Board Drivers Motors Power Supply Screws for the axis Anything else I might have left out. Is it better getting a package deal on some of these websites around here, or separately. Mind you, I have no experience with electronics besides assembling PCs for personal use. Thanks, BK |

| Cool, however, I have a few more questions: 1. I noticed that it's not an assembled kit, but instead I would have to solder things together. Would it be impossible for someone with no knowledge of working with electric components? Or are the instructions pretty simple? 2. Should I go with 3 Axis or 4 Axis (This will be the only machine for at least a couple of years. I will be a bit busy to build another one, that's why I'm doing this right now). 3. Should I go with 205oz or 305oz. The price difference seems to be pretty small. 4. What do you think of these packages? http://www.kelinginc.net/CNCNEMA23Package.html Two I looked at (don't know the difference between dual shaft and other): http://www.kelinginc.net/ThreeXCNCPackage.html http://www.kelinginc.net/ThreeXCNCPackage2.html 5. For the screw. Should I go with Acme, Ball or just regular Threaded? How many steps? |

I got my motors and controller boards from Probotix. they are extremly helpful and when I had an issue they went as far as I am concerned way above and beyond what they had to do. they have several different kits with motors and boards. If you mail him he will recomend what is the best oz motors and make any other recomendations that you might need help with.. |

| So far here are the options: Probotix: Not sure if I should choose PBX-2 or PBX-RF breakout board. http://www.probotix.com/3_axis_stepp...or_driver_kit/ Keling: http://www.kelinginc.net/ThreeXCNCPackage.html HobbyCNC: http://www.hobbycnc.com/products/hob...oard-packages/ All priced fairly close. What do you guys think? I would go with Geico 540 and then buy the rest, but it would come out much more expensive and those 3 above are good enough for this machine. |

| I have used the PBX RF board if you are using an addon Printer card that only cost a few bucks then the regular one probably isn't bad, but since I am using the onboard printer port I went with the rf isolated one. I went with this kit since I am using a relatively light 6.5 amp plam router and figured I didn't need a real heavy motor to lift it... Been working great so far.. http://www.probotix.com/index.php?vi...&product_id=47 |
