Any Joe's done in Houston?

I would love to see it in my village but most of the previous post/builds rather hide or had a hearth attack or some illness that keeps them from sharing information. I do not understand this and I am too old for this hide an seek game. If anyone has it running, please speak up.

I do not understand what you mean? Your user name says Cuba, but your thread says Houston (is that Texas?) are you asking if anyone in houston or cuba, has a machine built that you can look at or like to share ideas?

I am in San Antonio, Tx. and everyone within this section "Joe's CNC Model 2006" are more than willing to help and share information. this was the goal of this machine, to have a slightly better machine for the average DIY'er.

Joe

Cool

There are two colors of passports. One is blue or green and the others are mostly the shade of red. Right now I am in TX, with a blue one. Can we get back to the original question, please.

All I was asking is if you can clarify your question...

Unless someone else understands what you are asking and can enlighten me?

Joe

Simple enightment: Is there anyone in Houston, Texas that has this animal already built. Asking for a set up details on the forum seems to be a taboo. For instance: What motor; 305, 305 what, there are five 305's, what screw, no answer, etc.. And someone is worried about Castro of whatever...

butterRPG,
everyone here is very helpful. I just don' think everyone understands the question. I am not in Houston so no help on that.
Motor 305 means 305 oz in from hobbyCNC.com This is the controller Joe used on the 2006.
www.hobbycnc.com
Screw. Most used a 1/2" acme. They come in 1/2 10, 1/2 8, 1/2 10 2 start, 1/2 8 start, and 1/2 10 5 start, I think. I believe that all have been tried. I use 1/2 8 2 start. Works well for me.

To further elaborate, the 305oz/in in the holding torque of the motors, they are Nema23 motors, the HobbyCNC Pro kit will come with motors, most of the Power supply and the controller board, allot of people buy the 4 axis kit but all you need is three axis, the reason they get 4 axis in case they want to add a rotary axis to do some simple wood lathe workings.

The screw will determine how fast you will be able to move the machines, the fewer turns per inch the faster the machine will run, but there is a trade off to an extent, more turns means better resolution, fewer turns will mean a little less resolution, and a little more motor power. Most people are using the 1/2"-8 two start screws, which are 4 turns per inch.

I think the rest you may know, but if anything specific you like to know just ask about it and give a brief explanation, nothing like "how do i make the machine move" most will not answer because everything makes the machine move from power supply, controller, screws, software etc. and is to lengthy for people to want to answer.

Believe it or not we will help you, Hope this starts to clarify things a little for you and help you along the way.

Thanks, Joe

I was kind of baffled by the first post in your thread Mr. cuba; it's as if you didn't want your hand held but you asked for it at the same time. This forum is packed, joe's sub forum alone has 113 individual build logs/threads on this one machine and over 6,700 posts on the joe 06 machine subject matter. Most of the threads are loaded with information, questions answered, photos, videos. It's all free information available to you. And if you can't find what you need anyone here including joe is more than welcome to help and answer your questions. There are plans available for download including a part listing (partially). Hopefully you can find what you need. So please be specific as joe requests on what you need to get started or what you're looking for, because it seems you just want the machine to appear *poof* in front of you so you can go cut some stuff and be done with it. Diy is part of the fun you know!

Do not want a "poof", never had one yet, but still have 10 fingers and this forum, thank God. Joe did offer my screw dilema info in a previous post. And instead of just soaking it all in I have tried to work on some kind of a package, sort of a manuel to help people like me, retarded, with 10 fingers left. The actual construction is like Alamo, bullet proof, an I KNOW my cowboy had his guns out and the jingles to do it for free. So instead of *****ing I should cross that line in the sand and fire off some rounds.
