Haven't used them yet in the z assembly, but they have the right span.

Not sure if they are long enough yet, but will let you know tomorrow.

Actually guys, I've found that the 5/16" X 1.5" work great. I had a heck of time bending the 2" U bolts and I think it was a happy accident that the 1.5" fit without any fighting. In my particular case, the 2" bolts put some much strain on the Z bearing assembly that it cracked on one corner. I had to recut the bearing plate assembly and I am now using the 1.5" bolts and it seems to be working great with no other modification.

Good info, I know by getting bolts from different sources, you an had a sligh variation in actual length between bolts, so it is always good to measure before you buy, but if you get them online you have to just see how it works when you get them.

I agree! I was surprised at how much of a difference there was. In any case, the 5/16" X 1 1/2" U bolts from Lowes worked perfectly for me.
