Starting to cut my first Joes 2006 parts

I decided to start with the X Axis Long braces. I'm using my little home-built 7th Sojourn router to cut the parts. Even though the Sojourn only has 15" of X travel, I managed to cut out the full 58" long X braces by the fact that I can pass parts all the way through the machine without obstruction. I had to chop the X brace into 4 g-code programs but with the help of a jig, setup time between cuts was minimized. I've posted a video of the process to YouTube:

Very nice instructional video, this will help allot of people who are
trying to figure out how to cut the longer pieces. You can cut it at
your own pace also.

Really nice instructional video.....I started with a Kleinbauer machine as well.

Can you provide some more info on the touch-up plate? You said that you had a program running in Mach3 for it. Is it wired like a home/limit switch?

Any info you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I pretty much just searched CNCZone and the artsoft Mach3 forum for "touch-off plate" and gleaned what I could. The plate itself just consists of a piece of 2mm circuit board with a wire soldered to it. The plate is attached to the common ground pin on my HobbyCNC driver board and the alligator clip goes to pin 10 (pulled up). Then you have to configure Mach3 ports and pins to enable the "Probe" on pin 10. The most difficult part was using the Artsoft Screen4 program to drop a button and 2 DROs onto the bottom of the screen and assigning the button click to the macro code (by Scott Worden) I found on this post: http://www.machsupport.com/forum/ind...ic,2136.0.html
