Who can cut some parts in Australia?

Just wondering who in Australia can cut some parts, given the plans, so I could get my own CNC router dreams going.

I keep blowing my machine up so I can't really do much to help just yet, give me a few weeks though...

I'm sure somebody will be able to help, there are a few guys in Perth building machines, you may hear from them sooner or later.

Cheers mate, I am interested in getting the various parts of the Joe CNC 2006 cut for us, here is the link to the dwg and various other files that Joe placed in one of his posts:

Most of the parts are made out of MDF, wih a few out of HDPE. There is a PDF called "joes CNC Model 2006 part listing" saying how many of each part is to be cut, but it doesn't say what thickness wood or which parts are HDPE.

I'm also getting pretty close to being able to cut parts. The catch is you need someone to convert the drawings to metric first. While we still use imperial sized sheets 1220(4ft)x2440(8ft) they are metric thickness, which means you need to change the drawings anywhere a part goes into a slot or rebate.

Got my Joe's cutting stuff for the first time tonight. Just need to dig out the camera to take some photos of the progress. It's state a few months ago is here: Handcut Joes in Sydney, Australia

Additionally I have a spare 2 lengths of MSC 1/2"-8 (2 start) ACME if anyone is interested in them. It was difficult to get them shipped here so I ordered spares, be warned though they are not so cheap after postage to oz

Sounds like a job for the up and coming school holidays. Can't wait til I don't have to go to work for 6 weeks, should be enough time for me to modify some drawings.

Does AutoCAD read the DWG files? I am quite proficient at 3D Studio Max, so I may be able to use that if it can read the DWG files, can probably even make an animation of how the router table is put together.... or let's just stick to building one for now.

sorry I have not replied for a while, I've been very busy at work. Call me any time to discuss making some of the parts for you. You might find acetal is a better plastic to use, and easier to get hold of in Australia. I would defiantly be interested in making all your plastic parts for you machine. Talk to you soon.
