Hello Ger and Rick.

I find picture I like , Photoshop till it is as close to stencil like , i.e. black area needs to be connected . what I can't get in PS I do with Aspire, Node edit ( VCP would work) I then cut in .25 MDF you can get thinner lines if needed ( if vectors nice and fat use .125 HDF cheaper
Flat black is best. I just use black primer drys fast and is flat .

Hope that is not to simple if need more info please ask.

please post if you make something

Buy me a Beer?

I didn't realize they were 1/4" thick. I thought you figured out a way to route a thin film.

First litho

( old thread hope ur still watching) Hi all, This is just a practice piece on a piece of cutting board, hence all the dark lines and how rough it looks. The pic came from plasmaspider site. this was my first try at litho's and I'm STOKED at what can be done. I have some corian that I'll use next and post that as well.

Taped the material down with 3m double sided carpet tape from home depot and had at it. Took about 1.5hrs at 40-60ipm, I would change speed as the router got closer to the bottom or top since the lines were shorter.
Thanks for the machine Kent, still working great.

Smile Here's number 2

This ones a little thick , 1/2" corian ( maybe avonite) , but for practice I find stuff for free and use it. Guess I could "shave" it down so the light would penetrate better but for now I can see what a difference the material can make. Time to get shopping on ebay.
Took about 5 hrs. and used (believe it or not ) a deburring bit I got at ace hardware for 20.00. for the final. 1/4" round nose for the rough. Can't wait to get some real good v-bits. Coming soon.
PS; Thats a pic of my daughter when she was 6yrs old. 5 yrears ago.

This time I went small. Got a better bit too, 30deg v-bit from a guy at a swap meet for $5.00. ( hope it doesn't break for a while) I had requested some samples from an avonite dealer and got them in the mail within a week! They were 2x4x 1/4" so this is 2x2.
It helps to have a good bit I see.....lol. Sorry about the focus.

ps; re-cutting the 5x7 to 1/4"

Gettin thinner...new litho

Well it's been 20 days, ( and with my schedule that's pretty good) but here's one of my sister's grand daughter. Back drop is Miami condo/hotel from the intercoastal.
Went down to .04 from base but I think I'll stay at .08 . Good light at .04 but the pixels seem to come through more too. Still working on it so "subject to change".....lol
