    Adjustable bearing slide question

Hi all I'm studying the Joe 2006 R2 easm file and I'm looking for some clarification on the adjustable bearing slides.

To use the Y axis as an example, I see that the top slide is bolted to an HDPE block. The HDPE block does not appear to be bolted to the Z-axis carriage but is instead press-fitted into the carriage top. The tight fit should offer enough friction to prevent the HDPE block from wobbling but on the flip-side, that friction would probably make it difficult to adjust tension with the four 5/16 2" bolts. Is there something that I'm missing?

If I'm understanding your question correctly... The 4 adjustment bolts in the top of the Z axis hold the plate in place. When you tighten them up, it raises the carriage and the bottom slides rest against the bottom rail. The block doesn't need to be "tight", just a snug fit. The 4 bolts adjust it no problem.
