Hello, I'm building the JGRO machine but I'm upgrading the lead screws to 1/2 - 10. I was thinking of useing 425 in/oz motors. Is this overkill? Also, should I use 1/2 - 10 screws on all axis? Thanks in advance Kasari |

| The motors, screws, and drives need to work as a matched set. Typically, with lower priced drives, you'll get poorer performance with larger motors and 1/2-10 acme, as they can't spin as fast as smaller motors and will actually go slower. Going with 1/2-8 2 start will double your speeds, and 1/2-10 5 start will go even faster. What drives do you plan on using?

| If you're talking about the HobbyCNC motors, then as I said, there's a good chance that the machine will actually be slower with 1/2-10 acme. If you go with those motors, you should change to a multi start screw.
