The JGRO plans specify MDF for the adjustment blocks. However, I've been reading build threads and have noticed that some people are using (presumably) delrin for the blocks. I've seen others mention HDPE. What's the consensus on this? I can imagine these take quite a bit of stress, so I'm leaning towards the plastic. If this makes sense, which is better choice between delrin and HDPE? thanks! |

| [Delrin is a better choice because it it more durable and not as sticky to work with. Both will work as will MFD but I feel delrin is nicer to work with and will last the life of the machine and then some. On the x axis don't use HDPE. it doesn't seem to have the strength or rigidty required. I tried it and was not happy with the results. Delrin worked great and if your going to use plastic thats the one to use..Ron BB thanks![/QUOTE] |
