How did everyone setup the Z Axis bearing arrangement so that when the 1/4- 20 rod spins it does not drop the rod out of the bottom? The drawings show a nut at the bottom and then a washer, the bearing, spacer and another nut. What retains the rod on the upper side??? I am missing something.... Does anyone have a picture of their setup????? Thanks a mint! Richviper Worked all weekend on the CNC and only have to mount the Gantry to the Y-Axis. Had a few issues but seem to have everyhting solved except the Z-Axis issue. Did find that the gas pipes are not really true and had to put them on a lathe to ensure all bearings ride along the full length of the pipe. Also the aluminum angles used for the bearings must have the holes drilled very precisely. Other than that is is a very nice design and fun to build. I can't wait until my steppers arrive tomorrow!!!! |
