Hi, I am building a JGRO as my first router and have learned alot from all the other threads, I am facing issues routing the channels for the linear bearings. What have others used to cut the channels? For dtl34 and dtl40 are the measurements the centerlines of the channel or the bottom edge of the channel? Regarding polishing the gas pipes if you turn inside out a belt sander belt you can polish a pipe that way. That is how boat builders sand masts. ![]() Rick |

| Rick, Good picture of the belt sanding mast method. Excellent. Regarding the channels for the details 34 and 40, I used my cheap table saw. However, if I did it again, I should have used my router and cheap router table. If you don't have a router, well, you will need one soon. I favor the Hitachi, variable speed router. Costs about $120 at your HD or Lowes. Good luck on your build. I really enjoyed my JGRO. I recently looked at my Mach3 odometer, and I discovered that I cut about 3 miles worth of wood this past year. Lots of fun. Dave |
