I was wondering what other builders have experienced and what can be done to optimise the feedrate. |
What did you use for your threads, did you use a standard all thread or did you use an acme thread with multi starts?
I initially built my Jgro table with the suggested 1/4-20 all thread and was seriously limited as to how fast I could cut, I have since upgraded to acme 1/2-8 2 start and have easily doubled my capable cutting rate now mind you I never spent a lot of time fine tuning the machine either so you results may vary. |
