    rebuilding jgro cnc

    Now I know why he used MDF wood that stuff realy heavy exspecialy
    4' x 8' sheet and trying to push that thing around lows for git it come
    close to whiping out a few displays...LOL

    I'm gathering up parts and was wondering how many pices can I get out of a sheet 4' x 8' MDF last time I didn't use the sheet a playwood I just got it size and went from there.

    In stead of using the 1/4" X 20 lead screw what would yall recamend ?

    Read some where somebody said that 1/4 " x 20 lead screw was kind of slow.

    Extremely slow, your steppers have to turn 20 time to move an inch, thats just too much, you'll get more torque from lower rpm's.

    I recommend using ACME threads for you lead screws, 1/2" seems to be the flavor of choice.
