clammy in the house Here is a pictutre of my jgro don't know when i will be finish but i have started.the angle i used ihad lying around the place so it is not alluminum. My adjustment blocks are made from square hollow section cut at 3/4 thick then i glued and pressed in a purpleheart insert.I must admit that they came out pretty good so i would encourage anyone to give it a try. hope you see the pics this is my first time. |

| Well i'm glad you finally got to post, i'll tell you again, i really like what you did with the adjustment blocks, i think this will solve any stripping issues with reference to the threads, i have had first hand experience so i'd know, then you can get to the point where "it's set, don't touch it no more" |

Is there a particular reason why you recommend painting it? Is it to keep the MDF from soaking up moisture? Or for aesthetics only? What would happen if it wasn't painted? Also, how would you recommend keeping the paint from getting into all the threaded holes I've created? Thanks. Brad |

I agree with Jason, paint it now. I didn't and regret that decision. You will end up using some kind of oil on your lead screws and you will have it on your hands. it won't be long before you start seeing it on the wood. My machine is still very healthy, but I wish I'd painted it long ago before I started adding so many accessories. Now it's going to be a real chore to paint. |

| I read here somewhere that the easiest way to paint these things and not get paint in the holes is to use a foam roller it leaves a pretty smooth finish and by rolling it you can go right over the holes and not get paint in them ( unless the roller is driping with paint) I agree with everyone I was in to big of hurry to see it run and play with it that I didnt paint mine and wish I did oilly finger prints and smudges all over ( almost the ugliest tool in th workshop got a few that are older then me)but runs great. |
