I named it "Kermit". I'm still adjusting, but I'm already thinking about upgrading it. The stepper controller is PMinMO's 3 channel board, the motors themselves were scavenged from some old 8.5" diskette drives (yes, he said eight and a half inch diskette drives). The router is Harbor Freight's trim router, bought on sale for $18. I cast my own motor couplers and etched my own printed circuit boards, so the estimated cost was under $200. It's a little slow, but it moves well at cutting speed. |

| Most of my cutting was done on a radial arm saw- external straight cuts are very accurate. I had to do the internal cut on the gantry by hand- so the edge finish covers up the fact that I can't follow a straight line worth a crap. I got the motors because they were 24v and I didn't yet understand 'chopping'. |
