new guy in need of parts help

I am looking to order most of the parts first so I can see how they go together before i cut the wood.. I was wondering about part numbers for the bearing flanges.. what size and all that fun stuff.. I was looking on mcmaster.com for those as per jgro.

Also I was reading somewhere in here about using galvinized pipe instead on black because it is smoother... but is it as strong? any thoughts?

Black pipe is better. Galvanised pipe is rough.
If both are sanded, black pipe is still smoother.

I posted to your other post about embedding 1/2" bearings instead of flange bearings, but if you're using 1/4" rod the flange bearing I bought from McMaster Carr, the one in JGRO plans, is part number 6383K213 "Steel Ball Bearing Flanged Open for 1/4" Shaft Dia, 11/16" Od, 5/16" W In stock at $2.79 Each"
