Well, the building of the first cnc goes fine. There still remains one last but big problem. The stepper has the tip having 1cm diameter. The mills has roughly 1.5cm diameter. Now how can I connect these two. What should I use? Thanks... |

| There are many options. Do a search for the term "lovejoy coupler" and you'll see one of the more popular ones. Another commonly used option is making the coupling with high pressure air hose -- the clear kind with the spiraled threads inside of it. Hope this points you in the right direction... -- Chuck Knight |

| I could find any cheap air hose, so in one of my research trips IE wandering around Menards, Home Depot, etc looking at everything and wondering how I could use it on my cnc machine). I found the braided water lines for sink hookups...... many differnt sizes and CHEAP ~ $2 for 20".... Cut to length they fit perfect on my steppers but had to slit the side in 2 places to open it for the 5/16" threaded rod and secured with hose clamps. Work fine until I can make new LoveJoyish coupler. |
