    Question JGRO in the UK?

I'm seriously considering building a JGRO machine when I have the space (hopefully not too far off).

All the mentioned suppliers for parts (motors, drive boards etc) all seem to be based in the USA.

I was wondering if anyone has built one in the UK & what they used & where it came from.....were the parts for the actual machine easy to get or did you have to alter certain parts etc.

I have no problem with ordering stuff from the USA, but obviously a UK based supply would be nice (less shipping costs etc).

    Any info would be great!

    Ta

    Tom

    Hi

If I can remember where I put the thread - I have started one on the supply of parts in uK/europe - Also as you progress ,I have just started to try and source bits and pieces that everybody wants the dimensions in metric - so these need to be convereted which I have not managed to do yet.One up and running I will be able to supply some of the parts especially the bearings and the stepper motors .

I have already managed to find UK supplies for some bits that I have already.

I got some ABEC 9 skate bearings from:
    www.skatewarehouse.co.uk
I don't think they do the ones I got anymore - it worked out at about £35 for 24 bearings including postage.

Stepper motors I got from here:
    www.arceurotrade.co.uk/
    I got the Hybrid 180Ncm with 6mm shaft at £30 a piece....nice strong motors.

& finally I have some control gubbins to try out from here:
    www.routoutcnc.co.uk/index.htm
I've only made up a very basic test setup so far, but it seems to work fine.

I'm still waiting for the space to actually build the machine - not long now
