    Lightbulb turbine engine planing

    HI!

Do you have turbine planning experiense?

Im goeing to plan turbine myself but i dont have experiense and i dont know where to start.

I know only little of airodynamics

what kind of software you recomed? i use linux and i have some software like qcad, freefem, blender and i need more payless software. But i dont change to windows anymore, maybe wine runs those witch wont run on linux natively.

Im planning turbine witch must provide lot of mecanical power trought transmission to fan diametter like +- halfmeter.

Do you have anything good to tell me? any good vices? etc.

Your best bet is to build an already proven design, or to simply modify one. If you look at most modern, model turbojets, you'll see they are all a variation of one proven design.

I'd just buy plans for a model turboprop (assuming your fan is a propeller). These guys are reputable: www.wrenturbines.co.uk

Ofcourse you can design a one-off engine, but the mathematics, lengthy development, and lack of refinement that inevitably results should make that a last resort option. Look at one of the first model turbojets (http://www.gtba.co.uk/engine_designs/schreckling.htm) compared to a newer model jet (http://www.gtba.co.uk/engine_designs/wasp.htm).

If you are willing to design a new engine, brush up on your calculus, join a discussion group that is filled with people smarter than me (www.homebuildturbines@egroups.com) and learn about their larger counterparts through technical text books (http://www.aiaa.org/content.cfm?pageid=360&id=975).

Going the tried and true path is your best option...especially if you are inexperienced.

    Good Luck.
