    Beaker,
Sweet, looks better then great from the plate to the business end.

What plans did you use ?

What is the purpose of the sliding rail? a means to check thrust ?

Construction pics would be well received by experienced and the wanna build one too guys, I am sure.

    Hi ken

The plans for this engine can be found at http://www.heward-microjets.co.uk/ and the linear bearings are indeed for thrust measurement, will use a digital fish scale.
I do have construction pics and will post them.

    Thanks Beaker,
I see that the Heward-Microjets company has more then Micros in design.

How is your Wasp performing compared to the specs?

    Fascinating hobby.

How much were the plans? How detailed are they? Do they provide solid models of the compressor/diffuser or are they just 2-d drawings?
If you try to make everything idiot proof, someone will just breed a better idiot!

The plans are $35us and have all the info to build the wasp 1 all drawings are 2-d.
I have not yet done any tests to my engine, at the moment I am just happy to sit back and burn fuel.
No engine can beat the sound and smell that these babys can deliver.

9KG? Have you actually measured it? Later posts indicate you haven't?

#6 "I have not yet done any tests to my engine, at the moment..."

Is this the same model that tore apart in the air?

The 9kg of thrust is a quoted figure from phills website, hope I can get close to that.
As for the digital fish scale I will try and get around to buying one this weekend and I will post my results as soon as I have them.

The real facts of the "model that tore apart in the air" are not out yet so lets not go there and yes this is the one.
