I work with a research group at Georgia Tech. We ordered an IH CNC mill on Oct 22, 2008, and still haven't received it. We were quoted 10 - 12 week delivery and it's now been about 29 weeks. So if you're thinking of ordering one, beware of promises on the delivery time. |

| bucky What the hell???? You posted this on 2/26/2009 I'm considering buying an IH CNC mill. I'd like to see hi-res pictures of the mill from the front, side, etc. I also need dimensions of the workspace needed to site the mill. I can't find any of this on the IH website. Does anyone have this info handy? Here is the link Pictures and dimensions of IH CNC mill I don't know what is going on but it looks and sounds like adolescent BS to me. I ordered my mill and I was delivered on time. ![]() If you have a true problem then call Gene from IH and talk to him. Evan Last edited by EvanVH; 05-15-2009 at 11:49 AM. |

I'm involved with two IH mill orders, one mentioned in my previous post that was indeed ordered last October. I assure you, I and others at Ga Tech have called Tommy multiple times about the delivery date. The latest from him is that they will ship it this coming Monday. The second mill, about which I posted in February, will be used at another university. Back in Feb, I was considering other mills in addition to IH and that's why I wanted pictures and other info. |

| I will second this and say ordered mine at the first of the year and was told 10 to 12 weeks as well. When 12+ came I called and he told me he never tells people that it is always 14 to 16. I know he was very sick and it did put them behind which is fine but I'm pretty fed up now. I'm going to be at 20 weeks as of next week. I ordered another machine from a small company that builds full size 5 axis VMCs at the first of March. They have already built, shipped the machine got it up and running and gave me 1 week of 5-axis training and we are doing the 2 week of training next week. |

| Hi Folks; I just want to thank everyone that knew that I was ill for the calls, emails and cards. I tried to hide it and work through it, but I just couldn't. All I could do were phone calls usually from home. It was as the doctors described as as flu type infection (upper respiratory with no name) that laid me up for more than 4 weeks while they tried all types of meds on me. Needless to say we got behind by a lot more than that. In the last 2 weeks we shipped out 2 CNC mills and 2 CNC conversions. Another Turnkey is going out tomorrow or Wednesday. I apologize for the delays and should have let everyone know the situation, but every thing is fine now and we are sending out orders on a regular basis. Again, thanks for your concern and patience. Gene

| Glad your feeling better now. Unanswered email, nonresponse to postings (Made in the USA), and delays in shipments. Was starting to think you were JT at Shoptask. lol Last edited by banctecbobn; 05-19-2009 at 12:12 AM. Reason: wording |

I've had 2 of JT's machines - the first one was delivered right out of their warehouse in a few days ( 1995). The new Patriot I ordered took 10 weeks from order, but I was told that it would be 6 weeks up front, so the actual delay was only 4. If you read any of these forums, its pretty clear that shipping delays from China are the norm, and common sense tells you that there is no reason why they would withhold your machine if they had it in stock. |

| Hi Banctebobn; Thanks for your post. We almost never respond to post on the Zone for 3 reasons; 1) We sponsor this open forum for you the public interested in conversing about IH Mills. 2) We at IH start a thread such as the Made In America with a great deal of pride in Our products the USA and its workforce. If the post are cool we enjoy them. In this case there were a lot of post that tried to demean IH and the USA. We would never ever respond to that type of post, but this is an open forum and we believe that the viewers see through this type of post and take care of it themselves. 3) We supply IH customers with whatever help they need, anytime. They all have our support phone # to use at will and they do. We broke rule #1 by writing this post, but we thought it good to tell everyone how we think at IH. We work very hard at keeping our customers happy and on occasion because of different stories or mitigating circumstances we get a bad post. On the Zone this seems to be the occasional norm as you all can see, but we let it go because this is Your Forum and we know that the vast majority of you enjoy the IH Forum. By the way we answer 500 to 600 emails a week and if we miss yours please try it again. Hi Smallblock; We might as well break rule #1 again. Thanks for your support. Our basic mill is made in China, but 100% of the CNC System is either made by us or from an American Manufacturer also made in the US. And our electronics as is the nature of things is 95% made in the USA. We usually have 50 Manual mills in stock so that is never a problem. We build the Turnkey CNC's 1 at a time at IH in New Britain. We use the casting from the manual mill to build the CNC. Thanks

| IHCNC, Yes, the postings did get very carried away. Wish you would reconsider your stance on replying to these post. One could assume it would greatly cut down on the daily emails. Without being able to travel to the local machine store to check out an IH mill we are left to this forum to "see" the mill. Rereading the post "Made in the USA" there is several unanswered questions that would be great if you could respond. Please don't think I'm being difficult, I'm still an IH fan. |
