Made in the USA

Hi Folks;
We received an interesting E-mail today asking what parts of the IH CNC Mill are made in America. After a moment of thought we decided just to list the parts that are not made in the USA.
1. The castings for the mill including the gear head.
2. The Spindle motor.
3. A few electronic circuitry pieces. Can't get USA Built.
Thats it. Everything else is made in the USA by American Companies. All the machined parts are made at IH on our own IH CNC Mills. The total electronics system is also designed and built in house at IH from the box up with 99% of the parts made in the USA.
We are very proud of the Made in the USA label and what it stands for. For all of the CNC Mills that we sell, it's very nice to hear the good things our customers have to say about us and our products.
And by the way our second 5 Axis CNC Mill is done and running and we hope to put some videos of it on our site making chips. Our new line of American made R8 and NT30 tooling should be showing up in the next month or so. We will let you know.

Made in America.

I am glad to see that you can make a living in the great state of CT, or should I say the great state of taxation.

nope. in fact, im attempting to start a company based in taiwan making things.
oh, im not american

the original post was interesting, and while i could pick it apart and try to see if everything is really "made" in the us or just assembled... doesnt matter. hes happy to be making the machine from many us made components and thats just fine. i might do the same if id made a mill of mostly canadian parts.

now, if you want to buy (mostly) ameican made things because you feel it supports the ailing us ecomomy.. go for it. if you want to do it out of pride.. go for it. if you want to cut down tormach vs IH based on quality or features or price.. go for it.

but what did tormachs country of origin have to do with anything here to warrant a big bold attempt at insulting the nice people that make those machines and all their owners?

i thought it was a silly comment, so i gave a silly response.

IHCNC, I have recently seen a pre-owned, but never used manual mill for sale locally. I can pick up and save a bit of cash should I decide to go the IH route, but my question pertains to the cnc kit which your site says you will only sell with the purchase of a mill. Can I simply buy the kit for this application?

The ailing US economy????? Yea Canada's economy is kicking some ass. So don't worry.

I don't feel it supports America's economy. In know it supports America's economy.

All I was trying to do was make a compaision of the two mills, but if you think that being made in China is a disadvantage then so be it.

If you don't care where the product comes from then it means nothing. I care.

No need to make a comment. I think the above statement says it all.
