    Top view layout

    Is there a top view layout of the turn key CNC mills available?
    With the full travel in plus and minus on X and Y.

    In short what is the absolute smallest enclosure one can get away with?

    Hello IH company owners! This prospective buyer asked you a question a week ago.

    Thanks Runner for the post. I contacted Andre'B last week for all the options on what one might do to build different enclosures.

    i'm putting an enclosure together for mine as well. i don't know if it will be fully enclosed with a top and all but at a minimum it will have a 3/4 high wall to contain the majority of coolant splashing around.

    This is the enclosure I built for my IH mill, just one example of many styles of enclosures.

    Nice work but looks a little top heavy. How did it work out.

    Half a ton is hard to pull over, but perhaps a set of extension legs might be a nice addition, just in case?

    I have not yet loaded the mill. However, there will be a brace on the end of each wing to insure that the mill does not go out of level when the table is in an extreme left or right position.

    Have you considered what will happen with a large workpiece on the table and the table fully extended to left or right.

    The enclosure is built with 16ga steel and also stiffened underneath the wings with 1/4" angle. The stand itself is all 1/4" steel and the mill is bolted to the stand with 5/8 bolts. With braces on the end of each wing to the floor I do not expect any difficulty with any off center load.

    Hi Bohica;
    A beautiful Stand-Enclosure. Looks and sounds like you have it well thought out. Post more pics when it is finished.
