Hi every one, I'm wanting to buy my own milling machine. I'm a first year engineering student and have done an introductory class on both the milling machine and lathe, as far as my experience goes. I understand that you can get smaller cheap bench top versions of mills from China. I was wondering what models available are recommenced and how much they would cost and shipping? Undoutably, I want to learn to be competent machinist. My area of interest is firearms, (or just only airsoft because of my country's laws). So what is the best size suited machine? Thanks Tim |

| Have a look at: http://www.syil.com.au/product_X3.php I have one and it is a ripper. (sorry wrong choice of words) I bought mine "with the lot" in July. Doing very detailed work. You need a PC with XP and at least 600MHz speed to run it. A real parallel port is a must also. Plent of junk computers will work. Mine came off a hard rubbish collection from a neighbors house. Found keyboard 1 block away. Just added a hard disk and a monitor.
