Great idea. I have one of those and never thought of using it as an engraver on a machine

Sorry, but I don't recognize this item. I found the following at Harbor but it does not seem to have the same specs. Could you post the item number or link to tool you used?

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47869

How long have you been using this engraver? Any signs of the bearings giving out?

Thanks

Its probably this one:

It would be interesting to know how durable it is for continuous operation.

Regards
Phil

Philbur is correct.I have about 20 total hours on it. I only cut about .020 deep and it seems fine. There is endplay in it when its new but has not gotten worse.

Nicely done too!

I also like your mount for your cooling system. What's the plate behind the column, counterweighting system? It also looks like you've upgraded the motor?

Best,

BW

The coolant mount is the one Aaron sells with the kit.The plate in the back is notched back so the weight of the mill sits on top of the legs that go to the floor.I have drawings for the engraver bracket and the base plate for the power drawbar.I only have them in iges format. If someone wants to convert them to dxf they can post them here.

Hmph - I didn't get a coolant mount with my kit...

Could you post the IGES files? I am sure that someone can convert them.
