Taper 40 N.S.

Hello,

I am looking at purchasing a Gorton 2-28 mill. But I would like to find out the availability of toolholders. Are any of you familiar with a 40 N.S. Taper? The specification came from the Gorton Manual.

Will a 40 NMTB taper work with this system?

professor, I believe 40 NS is National Standard which was replaced by National Machine Tool Builders Association standard. I believe they are interchangeable.

I checked a few websites using the information you gave me and it is the same taper. It also looks like there are a few of them on ebay.
