Hey Jesse... Where did you scarf up the aliminum? Looks pretty nice so far. I suppose you'll be needing that engine hoist again to lift your machine off the stand to put your encloser under it? Hey I have to call you one of these nights and get your opinion about a tig welder I've been thinking about buying. Is that alright?

I'm anxious to see it installed. It looks small in the pic, but with it installed it will give me a sense of scale. Is it a fully welded box?

I've got a chip catcher designed for mine, I wouldn't really call it an enclosure. More in the vein of a Hass tool room mill (like this) with an additional 3 sided chip guard mounted on the table leaving the back of the guard open. Instead of the extra wings, I chose vertical panels low enough to let the table ride over them.

Right now all I've got is a 10" tall 4 sided chip guard mounted on the table. I extended the table out 10" with a sheet metal shelf and that was a good move. The back vertical piece gets in the way about half the time and spends a good deal of time taken off.

It's not uncommon for me to need to run pieces longer than the table so the end pieces need to be able to accommodate them.

One other little project at the same time will be a metal telescoping way cover running from the bottom of the Z slide to the back of the Y saddle. Hopefully mine is a summer project.
