    Problems with Industrial Hobbies

    Dear All,

I am having a not-so-good experience with IH CNC & Machinery. I ordered the mill-DRO combo, but currently I don't have the feeling it'll ever get delivered.

The order went out in May, at that point they told me delivery time would be two weeks, but despite many attempts to contact them they
never even returned the paperwork for the order till more than a month later.
In late June I finally managed to get someone on the line, and they told me that the machine would be delivered in mid August. Now August is over and I haven't heard from them. I spoke to someone on the phone, but he wouldn't tell me when I'll get my machine. No replies to emails.

    Is this company real?

    Dan

Sorry to hear this. From what I'd read here it seemed only those of us who ordered kits were getting burned, people ordering full mills were getting what they ordered.

Have you paid yet? If so, I'd consider asking the credit card company to reverse the charges if possible. I know I wish I had done so back when it became clear mine wasn't showing up any time soon.

I would try to cancel and get my money back, and order the clone of it from MTW.

If I'd read jetflatlines comments before, I'd never have considered Industrial Hobbies. Too bad, now I have to see what to do. Luckily I haven't advanced any money.
Anyway, this is a very strange situation. Delays and delivery problems are common and nothing unusual, I have to deal with that every day at work.
Not answering emails or returning calls is just unacceptable. To me that sounds more like a scam than a business.

Here is another report that would have been useful to know:

FYI, I've filed a complaint with the PA Attorneys General office, we'll see what happens.

Is there any update on this or any other issues with this company.

I am interested in a machine like this for my 2nd CNC.

I still don't have a valid Mach3 license. I've requested it be sent to me on media and have offered everything from a floppy to a USB drive for transport and still have nada.

Well that just makes no sense. You would think that would be trivial.
Did anything happen with the AG?

I think the AG is why I got the rest of my hardware (I posted about this in another thread) and it feels like IH thinks they gave me a valid Mach3 license and it's my fault it doesn't work. I ran it by the Mach3 people and all they were allowed to say was it was an invalid file and it'd been several years since they'd sold IH a license bundle.
