You're asking for a lot... Especially with automation.
I like Rhino and Madcam.
Cambam would be a good choice too, but I have a feeling Madcam is going places in the future .
I'd like to lean a good CAD program (ideally just once). My criteria:
1. Runs on Windows.
2. Absolute top cost ceiling is $500. Less is better.
3. Well supported and growing.
4. Widely used in the HMS user community.
5. Tool chain supporting eventual upgrade of my IH mill to CAM / CNC.
6. Solid / 3D models with precise dimensions.
7. Model mechanical motions in 3D. Interference, fit-up, etc.
So far, I'm leaning toward Alibra. Pros? Cons? Alternatives? Experiences?
I'm not adverse to investing in some learning curve, as long as the payoff is there.
Any pointers to other discussion lists or sources catering to the CAD alternative / selection process?
Thanks for the help!!
