    Industrial Hobbies alternative maybe ???

    Hi,
I have been reading the troubles people are having getting a IH mill and while browsing tonight I came across the CNC express mills.
Last time I looked at their site they only had round column mills, they now have 3 models and the larger square column one has the same travels as the IH mill. They are stepper instead of servo like the IH, but are cheaper at $8,500. They also have loads of accessories like rotary tables, QC tooling, etc.
Living in Australia it is not something I am interested in, I just thought I would give you guys the link to look at.
CNC Express Mill from MicroKinetics Corporation

    Edit
Also forgot to say they have CNC kits for $4400.

It does look like they might have got ZAY to sell them some IH mills.
It has the larger collar and the lift bolts in the base are exactly like the IH mill.

CNC the quill is a huge mistake because the quills have slop. If you can get a manual machine it may be a good second source.

Not to mention less than 5" of CNC travel for the z-axis.
