Have an Industrial Hobbies Mill on the way! Hello to all. I am delighted to see a sub-forum dedicated to the IH mill. I have one on order with Aaron. Since I am a newbe to milling and machine tools in general, I paid a little more and had Aaron lap the ways for me. I also orderd my mill with a 3 phase 2 hp American motor and VFD. I plan to convert to CNC a little further on down the road. Best rgards -- Roy Norris

That is a nice compact mill Roy, specs look good, what does the VFD do for you in the way of RPM increase ? since the stock RPM is on the low side. Ken

Hi Ken, The new motor plus the VFD takes the spindle speed up to 35OO RPM +. I have been agonizing for several months over which mill to buy. The IH mill's work envelope, particularly the 12"of Y travel, plus the availability of a ready made CNC conversion kit sealed the deal.
