Supercharger design

Hi all. I am working on my final project to graduate college and I have the task of designing a supercharger and modeling it in a program suck as inventor. Anyway I'm just looking for specs/ measurements of the internal parts of a supercharger. If there's anyone with the knowlege to help me out or can point me in the directions for the specs that would ne great! Thanks, Brian

I think you will need to be more specific. Axial supercharger? Roots type? Positive displacement screw type? Centrifugal supercharger?

Do you want to take an existing design and model it in a CAD system or actually design a supercharger? The latter may be a challenging project if you are not experienced in the field.

I don't believe too many contributors will want to complete your work/assignments for you. We will answer relavent questions if we can though.

I don't want anyone to do work for me...just wondering if anyone had knowlege of the specifications on a few of the parts I will probably be doing a design like the procharger set up it seems like a straight forward design.

I "Googled" "ProCharger" to determine what you're looking at.

That unit is a gear driven centrifugal supercharger. Its impeller is similar to that used on a turbocharger which is normally driven by the exhaust.

Another similar design was the McCulloch, AKA Paxton which was (is?) belt and friction ball driven.

Fortunately, the centrifugal type is the easiest of them to design/build.

Might have to do some internet research.

add: I had a McCulloch supercharger (stock) on a 1954 Kaiser. LOL

www.superchargersonline.com www.howstuffworks.com/superchargers4.htm

See if these help any.

add: You will have to search "superchargers" and "centrifugal superchargers" on the howstuffworks site.

If you want I can find the ISBN for my college jet engine textbook, it has a lot of the technical stuff on such centrifugal compressors.
