What are you working on?

This forum has been very slow for a very long time. It's hard to believe nobody is working on anything. Post some pictures of something you are working on. Does'nt have to be complete.

I built this 4 banger from a casting designed by Jerry James the Genius.
I am working on this 4 cylinder from castings designed by the late bob shores. I will have both with me and a few more things at the new show in Zanesville, Ohio next month.

What's happening out there?!!!

Hi Steve,
A web page needs to be devoted to this subject rather than scattered blogs across different sites, anyone who starts it, i am there.
There is lots of reference material around, but it can take ages to gather and interpret to minaiture design.
Some day.....

Hard to believe nobody but Mr Fud is doing anything.

Does anybody know who made the castings for this steam engine. It was built from bar stock using a set of plans that was supposed to be part of a casting kit. I made mine 1/2 scale of the drawings. The only thing on the print set is this text.

GAGE

Anybody seen this thing before

I need to get back on track with my mill project. I keep getting sidetracked.

I liked the little engine so much, I made another one.

The little engine that could

be swallowed accidentally...

Cute. What is the bore and stroke? Looks like .0625 x .125" scaled off the screen, unless that is your big toe...

Base is .375 X .406
Flywheel is .250 X .125
Piston/rod is .0625 X .175
Stroke is .0625
Crank is .032 with a .020 throw pin
The air passages are .013
The cylinder is .080 square with a 000-120 X .0625 screw holding it on

The video is fuzzy due to the cheap camera but you might be able to make a little something out.

That is tiny!

How do you time the air entry? The general shape looks like the pivoting plate arangement of this engine:

It is a horizontal wobbler. The cylinder wobbles between an intake and exhaust port depending on the position of the piston.

Steve, I have been following your builds on differant web site and am facinated with the size and speed you make them. What size and type lathe & mill do you use? With the price of steel and other materials climbing like they are, I may have to start getting serious about engine size. I think I will start saving my scrap.
Keep the pictures coming.
