| The compressor side is easy. Just find a vacuum cleaner impeller of the correct size. The hot side is another problem. This will need to be fabricated from some type of steel. Scavenging a blower from a dead motorcycle might be easier. I am curious about your need for a blower if the goal is gas mileage. Spark ignition engines do not benefit from turbocharging the way compression ignition engines do. Note that I speak of efficiency, not power output. Doug |

im a industral equment mech.and thers a small and i mean small disel eng made by kubota witch is turbo,ed its the smallest turbo ive ever seen about the size of a lemon but it works very well. ther only about 800 bran new it be worth your time to just buy one vs build one. i built a super charger for a rc car called a t-maxx running a 4 stroke airplane eng it worked but after everthing was said and done it was not worth it.. |

| I realise this thread died long ago, but I reckon this would have done the job for ya! ![]() Yes, thats a 35mm film cannister! Photo 'borrowed' from the old bible 'Turbochargers - by Hugh MacInnes' HPBooks. I have a dead one of these(beyond repair), very slightly larger (RHB31 or 32?) from a Diahatsu 660cc. Very cute. |
