Hi All This is my first post here, I have been lurking for quite a while, I thought I would show everyone what I have been doing. I have started building a 5 cylinder radial engine " Forrest Edwards 5 " and it has turned into quite an undertaking ( lots of hours ). Here is a link to my Photobucket Album of the parts I have made so far. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...dial%20Engine/ Regards Ivy McNeil

| welcome to the forum, the engine looks good, there's just something about radials is very cool, maybe its all the aeronautical history or the sound or just that they look great ... when does it get fired up? |

| Hi Mcgyver It wont get fired up for a while, I am just finishing up yhe outside parts right now. There is a lot of internal parts to make yet, I think the crankshaft will be next item. Regards Ivy

| Nice work. I have had the Edwards plans for ages. I got as far as a bad tool path for the valve, and one end of a set of pushrods, but then got side tracked to a making a lathe spindle micrometer stop to acurately position the pushrods to machine the other end.

| Hi Nick I am following the plans and they show the valves seating on alum. , If I have a problem with it I will install a hard seat. I finished turning the crankshaft today leaving grind stock, after I grind I will press the rod journal in. | Ivy, I have admired your workmanship in your photo's. I am anxious to see the finished engine in detail and hopefully see a video of the engine running. Are you going to use the oil pump as drawn? What oil are you going to use? |
