How does it run Tony?
Post some exhaust fumes, so we can imagine the smell the sound of this little jewel! Heheh!

Fantastic pc of work.. someday I might even attempt it myself... but thats a few years away...
Jderou, the crank is no different than a typical single cylinder engine, the difference is in the main rod. There is one 'main or master' rod which all the other rods are then attached to, they are 'slave rods' there is only 1 rod bearing on the crank and the rest attached to the master rod.Originally Posted by jderou
Here is an excellent animation of how a radial engine works.. [here] also a very interesting project if your into warbirds and radial birds.. unfortunatly.. its not been updated in some time so.. I'm not sure if the project is going forward or not..

Tony, that’s fantastic! I can see the many long hours you’ve put into your creation, it's an inspiration.
Hey guys,
Anyone interested in plans to a radial similar to this one, you can go to this message board and go to the files section, look for the Edwards 5 cylinder. The plans are free.

Hello
I started building one of these Radial Engines a few years ago and never got around to finishing it. I should get back at it as it is a neat engine. It is called the Heinen Five and designed by a Jurgen Heinen. It's a 1/4-Scale, Five-Cylinder, Glow Plug Ignition, Radial Engine. You can get plans for a Magizine called Strictly I.C. http://www.strictlyic.com/ The plans are in issues 16 & 17.....$6.75ea for a total of $13.50 US
Are there any other videos of this engine? I would love to hear it running above idle. Reved up a little. Please let me know if anyone knows of more Videos of this engine? Thanks.
Best regards
Willy
