    skt400c alarm

Have a skt400c, an 07 model I believe. It is showing alarm code 2067, relating to the turret. We have been back and forth with our tech service repairing this machine, as it is still in warranty. First they replaced the amplifier, with no luck. Now the are saying it is a cable. The tech showed me the cable, claiming when it is wiggled, it triggers the alarm code. It really doesn't make sense to me because the cable runs to a small box on top of the motor that drives the spindle. I looked over the end of the cable myself, and it appears to be making good connection, I even went back and tightened the pins so they would plug in tighter!!! We have the manual for the machine, but it stops listing codes after 54??? Anyone have any ideas??? This is my first post here, just found the forum today!!!! Thanks in advance for any pointers!

    Hello:
If the message of the alarm is "AL-67 TURRET COMPULSORY UNCLAMP is necesary first , check the sensors of clamp/unclamp and, if the turret is really in clamp position. If yes, in the installation/maintenace manual, are all procedures about how to re-start the position 1 of turret, being necessary follow all steps, remembering the necessary care if the turret has or not milling tool (living tool) - please, the complete procedure, including the PMM process, must be made. Happens some crash or collision, before this alarm?

Typically, it is not the cable end that causes the alarm, it is a bad wire inside the cable. I would have thought the tech would ring out the cable to confirm, although even that is not fool-proof. In any case, Hilton is correct in that you need to verfiy physical clamping of the turret. Also, e-mail me if you would like a copy of the rest of the alarms for that machine.

AL-2067 is "Turret Number alarm / Turret no clamp alarm" . Hence the turret encoder & disc clamp/declamp proximity switches to be checked. (Once, earlier I faced this alrm & this made me tumble around for 4 days. Finally we found the cause being "routing encoder cable at motor end was twisted")
