    Default Spindle stutter

    Hello guys,
I have a problem with my lathe Hit 18s with Siemens Sinumerik 840C. Look on the film:

The bigger problem is when I start machine morning. After 0,5 - 1 hour this problem dissapears, only sometimes spindle jump.

    Somebody know what is it?

That looks like the gearhead inside is binding or possibly the belts inside are slipping. Open up the gearhead and see if you can see anything.

Thank you a lot for your answer. But inside which part? In servomotor? Becouse belts from servomotor to spindle are normally, servomotor also stutter, blets not slide if you mean it.

    witbike,
Normally gearhead lathes have a gearbox behind the chuck. That gearbox is normally driven by some belts to the drive motor. That might not be your case. If the servo connects directly to the chuck via a belt them remove the belt and put a piece of tape on the motor so you can see the shaft spin. Then try to spin the motor does it still shutter. If so check for a loose encoder connection on the back of the motor or from the encoder cable to the controller.

    Hello,

I check them. Current voltage do not out from Simodrive (611) when spindle doesnt work. Contactor turn on, but spindle do not go.

Are there any fault codes on the Simodrive? Read this link for fault codes

We have not any error on Simo 611
We check voltage on terminal 663 and 65 on Spindle card. When spindle do not work, voltage on terminal 65 is 7V, should be 24. I can't find them on my electric manual... In other slots voltage is 24 and is good. Maybe somebody have manual for Hyundai HIT 15s or know from which device come this 24V?

I found this signal im my manual. But I am not electronic and, somebody can help me to decode this electric schematic?

The signal 65 form spindle come form X141 without any relay? X141 is MMC CPU which I changed month ago so should be ok.

    Hello everyone,

I solved my problem. I found the signal come from measuring card. I put out this card and there are three small relay. One of them (spindle relay) was broken. I change them and machine start.

One the picture you can see this relay in bottom.

Yeah, I have seen those metal can relays hang sometimes. Normally the metal can type are hermetically sealed and they are typically higher quality than the plastic units. Anyway glad you got it working again.
