I'm writing from Croatia and here Hypertherm plasma units are most easily obtained. I'm looking for a plasma unit at the moment just to support my woodworking jig/tables etc. building, repairs around the house and later maybe with artistic type work/cnc in steel and stainless (plasma may be a bit of an overkill for now but am very much looking forward to avoiding cutting with grinding discs and like having new toys ). Just wanted to double check - for hand and cnc applications (light work), am I missing something by going for the pmx 45 over a larger model- eg. noticed in the specs that there's : -no fine cut consumables - no 90degree hand torch as standard (wouldn't even know which would be best to get) - no auto voltage (I guess this means setting the power voltage manually - no big deal) I'd like to avoid spending this much money and then find out I didn't spend enough ![]() One stupid question - how does cutting square pipe work - do you drop the current/air and burn through one side at a time ? I'm a couple of hundred kms from the distributor, so it's a bit difficult to check it out live - these are the models we have here - I guess there is no new/old models of the pmx45 : http://www.euroarc.hr/hyperterm.html. |
